Margaret Carol has been practicing energywork and holistic bodywork for over 18 years. While doing research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, with families with inherited cancer, caring for a chronically ill family member and working through her own depression, Margaret began her study of energy medicine and holistic bodywork with a Reiki I attunement. She completed Reiki II and III training, achieving her Reiki Master level certification in 1997. Her success with Reiki led her to explore additional ways to work with her hands and healing energy.

In 2001, Margaret discovered a unique form of transformational bodywork called Burnham Systems Facial Rejuvenation.  Studying with naturopath, Linda Burnham, Margaret completed the training, traveling to Hawaii and Santa Fe to obtain her professional certification. Combining Reiki and RYSE® with the facial rejuvenation work, Margaret calls the work ReJuve - it is an energetically enhanced focused experience that includes Ayurvedic massage and delicate acupressure on the head, neck and shoulders.

Within a year, Margaret established a successful private practice in Jamaica Plain, MA, while also working at The 5 Star Daryl Christopher Spa in Waltham, MA. During the 4 years that she worked at The Daryl Christopher Spa, Margaret was drawn to expand her skill and knowledge of bodywork further and became professionally certified in Aesthetics, Swedish Massage, Polarity Therapy, RYSE® and Ayurvedic Bodywork.  Her Polarity Therapy and RYSE training was with The Polarity Realization Institute, Westboro and in Ipswich MA where she currently teaches in the Advanced Polarity Career Program in addition to having a private practice in Kittery Point, Maine.

Margaret’s work these days is an artistic, energetic and unique mix of all of her skills and techniques, with a special focus on clearing and repairing energy systems combined with a profound and penetrating energized touch that supports the release of physical congestion body-wide.  Her clients range from those with physical, mental or emotionally chronic conditions to healthy individuals looking to access and maintain their highest potential via strong, clear and aligned energy systems.  She also has a loyal following of clients who swear by her energetic touch face lifts (
ReJuve) and the nurturing organic and Ayurvedic products that she uses to bring forth one’s deepest radiance and true beauty.  Her newest offering is a unique combination of healing with sound, energy, and touch, The BirthPath Song.

Margaret is professionally certified as a Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP), Registered Polarity Educator (RPE), and as a RYSE
® III Practitioner.  She is a member of the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA), the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and is licensed to practice massage and aesthetics in both Maine and Massachusetts.  She is nationally certified in therapeutic bodywork by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). She has also completed specialized training in Ayurvedic full-body massage (Abyangha), Ayurvedic Facial Rejuvenation, and Shirodhara.

Prior to doing energy work and holistic bodywork, Margaret had a diverse career.  She spent 9 years doing research with the National Institutes of Health and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  She began her ongoing career as a fiber artist, creating one-of-a-kind soft sculptured comfort figures and also ran her own successful web design company.  Margaret also taught middle and high school faculty principles of integrating technology into their classroom and teaching at the Cambridge College Graduate Program.  Margaret has a Bachelors Degree in Art and Music History from Newcomb College, New Orleans, LA, and a Masters Degree in Teaching from Marlboro College’s Graduate Center, Brattleboro, VT.

Margaret’s love of music started as a toddler who loved to listen to opera and continued with piano lessons through high school, college and beyond.  Her recent exploration into improv and channeled music was inspired by a focused study of “the blues” in 2007 and instruction and guidance from her spiritual teacher, Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo.

When she is not working Margaret loves living on the southern coast of Maine, creating soul-filled figures in cloth, exploring interest in quilting, playing blues piano, and walking the beaches with her dog, Gjaki.  She has practiced meditation for over 30 years and regularly attends the Native American and Tibetan Buddhist teachings and seminars offered by the Sunray Meditation Society and Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo in Lincoln, VT.  Margaret maintains deep connections to Native Elders from several indigenous cultures in this country, Latin America and the North West Cape of Australia.
